The CEO Summit is APEC's principal private-sector platform — the room where the region's business leaders meet each other and, uniquely, engage directly with the heads of government attending the Economic Leaders' Meeting. It runs annually alongside the leaders' week, and for the 2026 edition in Shenzhen the host is the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
The framing for the year is APEC's theme, Building an Asia-Pacific Community to Prosper Together, with China's stated priorities of openness, innovation — including cooperation on frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence — and regional cooperation. For an attendee, that translates into a programme heavy on trade, technology and cross-border investment, with Shenzhen itself — home to Huawei, Tencent, BYD and DJI — serving as a fairly pointed backdrop.
When and where
The summit falls in the Economic Leaders' Week around 18–19 November 2026, in Shenzhen. The meetings centre on the city's western bay — the Bao'an and Qianhai district — where the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Centre and its surrounding venues sit. What to expect as an attendee
Expect the format of a high-level business forum: keynote addresses, moderated panels, and structured networking, wrapped in summit-grade security and logistics. Two things are worth planning around.
