Matching your needs with the right hospital
Shenzhen offers a broad range of general and specialist hospitals. The institutions below are representative examples. We assess clinical specialty, language support, location and scheduling to identify the most suitable options for each guest.
What "Class III Grade A" means
China grades hospitals on a three-tier scale, each tier split into A, B and C. Class III Grade A (三甲, sān jiǎ) is the top rank: a large general or specialist hospital reviewed by the health authorities on clinical capability, teaching, research, staffing and safety systems, and re-assessed on a fixed cycle. It is the closest local equivalent to a major academic medical centre.
What an international department is
A separate wing of the same public hospital, staffed by the same consultants but run on appointment times rather than queue tickets: private consulting rooms, longer slots, English-speaking coordinators, help with commercial insurance paperwork and a single point of contact. You pay a higher, published outpatient fee for the setting — the clinical work and the hospital record are the hospital's own.
These institutions are representative examples, not a complete list. Hospital selection is based on clinical needs, specialist availability, language support, location and schedule. Appointment, pricing and admission details are verified before booking and remain subject to each hospital's current policies.

Peking University Shenzhen Hospital

- A purpose-built international medical department of roughly 24,000 m², with its own drop-off point, parking, lifts, security screening and a separate outpatient zone — so the route in never crosses the main hospital queues.

Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital
Shenzhen Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine

- Among China's first group of Class III Grade A TCM hospitals, founded 1975Futian and Guangming campuses, plus a dedicated acupuncture and tuina centre
- International dept.
- We have not found a separate international department published for this hospital; care runs through the TCM specialty clinics and the acupuncture and tuina centre, so an interpreter and a pre-booked appointment slot matter more here than at the general hospitals.
